Purdue Pharmaceuticals Pleads Guilty In Fueling the Opioid Epidemic
Oxycontin, one of the most prevalent painkillers that leads to opioid addiction, was created and pushed by Purdue Pharmaceuticals. This problem with Purdue Pharma began with complaints from individuals and their families, and only recently has come to a head with "an $8.3bn (£6.3bn) settlement and agreed to plead guilty to criminal charges to resolve a probe of its role in fuelling America's opioid crisis".
